Health Fair Kickoff
Every year we dedicate a Saturday to Child Abuse Prevention and Strengthening Families. This event serves as the season kick-off and garden plot registration. We host local service providers who offer free health screenings, updated health related program information, parent—child activities, and healthy food for gardening families.
Father’s Day Celebration and Dinner
The FSC and VNA host a Father’s Day Celebration and Dinner giving families the opportunity to honor their Dads.
Latino Independence Celebration
Parents and children celebrate central and south American independence. We share traditional food and dance.
Multicultural Thanksgiving Feast
Families, staff, and invited guests donate a dish from their country of origin and share a meal together in the tradition of Thanksgiving. Interns conduct a craft and play games with children.
Day of the Dead Celebration
CAB hosts this celebration and honor those who have passed on to the afterlife. Parents and staff serve a potluck dinner.
Breakfast with Santa
Families have the opportunity to meet and eat breakfast with Santa. Parent leaders host a Christmas craft with children. Our local Yogi, Amy Zambrano, conducts (2) sessions of “kids yoga” during this event.
Family Fun Nights
The FSC’s Community Advisory Board (“CAB”) hosts holiday theme based activities, game night, and Bingo. Parent—child activities include educational components for children of different ages. Family Fun Nights promotes fun family bonding. We accommodate working parents and host FFN between 5—7 pm. Healthy food, beverages, and snacks are provided. Bingo night features pizza and prizes for adults and children.
Family Yoga by Amy’s Yogabilities
This fun, therapeutic yoga class is for the whole family. Learn poses, yoga games, singing, dancing, and meditative arts and crafts. This yoga class fosters fun family bonding, offers exposure to creativity, mind, body and soul connection, and promotes exercise.
Community Advisory Board
We are dedicated to developing leadership. Joining CAB encourages engagement and community participation. Members provide vital feedback on Family Success Center activities and outreach events. Membership provides the opportunity to voice opinions and develop, implement and help staff manage programs. CAB ensures the needs of the community are met.
Immigration Workshop
Hosted by American Friends Service Committee, an organization committed to social justice, peace, and humanitarian service. Q & A session on immigration related topics follows the lecture.
